I woke up early to drink my 32 ounces of water at 7:15 and had to finish by 7:45. Wow, that was a lot of water for me in a short period of time. My appointment wasn't until 8:45 so I got myself ready, but by 8:20 I thought I was going to lose my bladder. Why do they make pregnant women drink all that water and try to hold it, like it isn't bad enough going all day as it is with regular liquid consumption. We arrived at the Dr.'s a few minutes early, but we were able to get right into the sonogram room with the tech.
Amy, the tech, did all the measurements first while my bladder was full. She said because my bladder was full it was making it easier for her to get good measurements. She said all the anatomy parts looked great and that the baby was measuring on target. She told us that the baby was moving around like crazy and I thought to myself oh this is a good thing.
After the measurements I could finally empty my bladder so we could do all the fun stuff and find out the gender of this little one. We got to see Baby A's eye lens move, so neat! Well Baby A was moving around a lot, but as the tech phrased it they were log rolls. Baby A was rolling, but had the legs crossed at the thighs and feet over the head and they weren't budging at all. The tech tried for 45 minutes to get Baby A to move those legs or feet. I was rolling around the bed back and forth trying to get Baby A to move as well. I couldn't believe we may be leaving this office and not know today. Finally, before she was about to call it quits she got a glimpse and said her best guess was a "GIRL"! She showed us the three white lines which usually mean girl, but she said without being able to get a better view that was only her best guess. She told us we could come back to try for another sonogram at our next appointment in 4 weeks, but we could not schedule an appointment just for that. It would be only if they had time to do one in between scheduled appointments at our next visit...what a bummer. I wanted them to do another one a few days later and be positive.
Here are some sono pictures of our little one:

Since we took the day off we still decided to go surprise our Mom's, so we took them a pink rose arrangement with these little diaper pins that said girl. They both had no idea it was today since we tricked them. Both were so excited beyond belief. We just had to give them a disclaimer that said this was the tech's best guess so keep your receipts if you start buying anything...hahaha! We also called all our family and everyone was excited. First granddaughter on both sides!
Mom's surprise ~

I had to go straight to Von Maur afterwards and buy my diaper bag, I just had to have ~

And this cute bamboo onesie from Kicky Pants ~

My sister Janna got this for Baby A. She is so excited to be an Auntie again!

To end, we are going to do our own sonogram at another private office here in town on Monday, August 23rd to see if this little stinker cooperates this time and let's us know for sure she is a girl so Mommy and Daddy can start buying, buying, buying!!!
